Sellin' Systems at S3 Coffee Shop ☕️

📍 Why We're Here

Welcome to Overly Caffeinated, the blog where we sip caffeine and spill the beans on everything you need to know about content marketing!

This week’s entry: I took a solo trip to S3 Coffee Bar in San Diego — a spot with pastel vibes, creative corners, and a fire dirty chai latte. More importantly, it gave me the space to reflect on a key lesson I learned this week:

If content still feels hard, you're probably missing a system.

Stay tuned to see how I break down an easy content strategy I picked up from Jaden Young as he sits down with Omar Eltakrori on episode 70 of his YouTube series “The Dept” and tie it in with advice from social media guru Latasha James on staying flexible in a fast-paced content world. Whether you’re just starting or trying to scale, I’ve got a plug-and-play method you can implement today.

Grab your drink, take notes, and let me show you how to make content easy.

S3 Coffee Review:

My Hot Take ☕️

Order: Dirty Chai Latte w/ Homemade Almond Milk

Let me just say it — the chai latte was fire.

Aesthetically pleasing, sweet, and just the right amount of kick to get my creative juices flowing.

I’ll be honest — I always get drawn in by the names first. If it sounds good on the menu, there’s an even better chance I’m ordering it. Even though I’ve had chai lattes before, I went with it today because I wasn’t in the mood to try something completely new. I wanted something familiar that I could compare to what I’ve had in the past. Now, the part I didn’t know is what made it “dirty”. But a quick search on ChatGPT let me know that the shot of espresso they add to the regular chai latte is what makes it dirty. And once I found that out, it made total sense because it was written on the receipt lol.

All in all, S3 is a solid café. The pastel furniture and neon signs scream Instagram-friendly, which is a plus for me, and the overall design stands out. One thing I found neat is that when your drink’s ready, they place it in a cubby and make it easy to grab and go,  a small touch that feels fresh and organized.

I sat in the back corner of the shop and noticed black-and-white sketch art lining the walls, which gave the space its unique feel, totally different from the main section of the cafe. The massive skylight in the middle of the café brought in plenty of natural light, making it an ideal spot for journaling, planning, or quiet content work.

And can we talk about location? Ample parking + close to Mission Valley = perfect midpoint if you’re linking with someone after a work session. It's a great meet-up spot without the stress of downtown chaos.

Mekhi’s Score: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

✅ Great indoor seating variety

✅ Strong natural light + unique corners

✅ Easy parking and central location

❌ Limited outdoor seating

❌ Not very busy

Would I return? 100%.

If you're looking for a creative atmosphere with thoughtful design, S3 is worth a visit.

CONTENT MARKETING:

🫘Keep It a Bean: Be Agile, and Make Content Easy

Now for the part we’ve all been waiting for… Content Marketing!

This week’s biggest lesson?

Build systems that make content easy and fast because that’s what creators and businesses are looking for

The key to consistent content isn’t more ideas — it’s better systems. After hearing similar riffs on this idea by 2 highly respected individuals in the content, I quickly realized how vital this is to success online. From Jaden Young (via Omar Eltakrori’s “The Dept”), I picked up a plug-and-play method for turning 30 concepts into 90 pieces of content by breaking them into three content pillars. Then Latasha James reinforced that in a fast-changing industry, your success depends on having a few go-to content styles you can produce quickly and repeat confidently. The lesson? Be agile, simplify your workflow, and make content easy to create even on your busiest days.

Jaden Young

After watching Episode 70 of “The Dept,” hosted by Omar Eltakrori with special guest Jaden Young. At the 18:00 mark, Jaden casually says:

“I could make 90 pieces of content right now.”

Why? Because he has go-to templates and content systems. And let’s his persona handle the rest.

🧠 The System That Stuck With Me

Jaden’s method is simple and genius:

  1. Brainstorm 30 overall content ideas

  2. Break them into 3 content pillars (Ex: Introduction, Tips and Tricks, BTS)

  3. Make 10 pieces per pillar using your favorite formats.

    Rinse. Recycle. Repeat

Latasha James

To take it further, I also applied advice from Latasha James in her latest YouTube video.

“My Advice for Social Media Managers in 2025.”

 Her point? BE AGILE!

Don’t waste time planning 30 days of content if the industry might shift in three.

Instead:

  • Choose 2–3 content styles you can consistently produce
  • Get known for those formats.
  • Stay flexible and available for trends.

For me, that’s:

✅ Carousels

✅ B-roll + Voiceovers

✅ Talking Head Reels

That’s how you post with confidence, not chaos.

💡 Try This Now

If content still feels hard, here’s your next step:

✅ Use ChatGPT to create 30 ideas for your niche

✅ Break them into 3 buckets: Intro, Action, and BTS

✅ Pick 3 formats you enjoy + are trending in your niche

✅ Plug those ideas into your templates and start posting

I’ll keep watching long-form videos so you don’t have to.

You just focus on implementing.
